About this project

An interactive choropleth of San Francisco's 117 neighborhoods, built on a 17-million-row local SQLite database snapshotted from BigQuery public datasets and DataSF: police incidents (2003–present, across both SFPD reporting systems), 311 service requests (2009–present), fire & EMS dispatched calls (2001–present), the business registry's openings, closures, and active locations, and ACS population estimates back to 2010 — enabling per-capita layers. Every row is spatially tagged with its neighborhood at load time; the site ships only small derived JSON layers. Pick a metric, scrub the years, and watch neighborhoods shift; open a neighborhood to zoom into its street-level blocks; or test how any two metrics relate with rank correlations and permutation p-values.
